Rest is a prescription all of us need to take on a regular basis. Enjoy the time with your family. I’ll look forward to seeing how much Myles has learned and grown over the next couple of months. Toddler minds are like sponges. You are modeling all the right things for him to absorb — what an amazing dad you are! Happy holidays.
This week, another writer I follow (Rebecca Holden) used the word "restive" to describe how she is trying to approach the coming season. May your break bring that to you, Marc.
While I know everyone will support you in this decision, I also recognize that it's hard to admit that a break might be what's needed. All those feelings of potentially letting someone down. But gosh! Unless you're doing it, it's hard to understand just what it takes to craft something that feels worthy of sharing every week while also maintaining your relationship, being a parent, another job, and a household. You've earned this!
Elizabeth, thank you so much. Not sure why this was so difficult for me. But you’re right - I think I was worried about letting people down. Something I need to check it n with - need to continue to ground myself in my “why?” I appreciate you for seeing me in such a beautiful light.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your wonderful family! Loved the clip of the little one and the animals. You can't give him the question quick enough. Take care!
I love when I see a writer taking time off because it gives me permission to do the same. I hope these months fill you to brimming!
Appreciate you, Isabel! You were also one of the writers I thought of when I decided to take a break. Thank you for taking the lead.
Merry Christmas! Hope you have a great holiday.
Same to you and yours, family!
Enjoy your rest brother! Can’t wait to read more when you return.

Same, Marc! Looking forward to staying in touch in 2025, too! :)
Celebrating your diligence with this work AND the instinct to pause and return to it refreshed. I wish you the best of breaks, Marc.
Wishing you the same , always Rose. Looking to connecting more on the other side of the year!

Thank you so much, Hillary! I love that metaphor of rest being a prescription!
Taking time is so good for the soul, creative process, etc. so I’m proud of you. Also … Myles is… so dripped out. Iconic
