Appreciate you, Carmelia! Is it safe to say I’m getting old now? 34 😂

A lie don’t care who tells it, just call yourself seasoned, like epice

Perfect metaphors...made me laugh and think...good combo! Happy birthday... wishing you clean, folded, AND put-away laundry today!

We just decided today - we might outsource the laundry 😂 oh and thank you for the extra bday love. That will go straight to the first load 😂

Happy Birthday, Marc!!!!

Therapists love metaphors and this is a great one. A dynamic I relate to deeply. Thank you for adding your voice to my interviews series. I know it resonated for many.

Sometimes we really do need a specific type of care. 💛💛

March 3rd, but I didn't announce it. Let's keep on swimming, for sure.

Happy birthday Marc, I hope you had an amazing day!

I think the laundry metaphor works. Not everyone can hold our laundry, nor should they. Sometimes you just need someone to sit with you while you sort, fold, and put it away yourself. Myles is having a better childhood because you are working on yours. I wish I had started therapy earlier so that I could have shown up better for my kids when they were little. What I have found, however, that it's never too late to repair.

Happy (belated) bday, Marc!

I loved reading this. I admire how you knew it was time to step away from the same old cycle of rinse repeat. (Sorry, I had to dance a bit more with the metaphor!)

I don’t think we walk away from a great therapy session cleaner, necessarily. But we walk out a lot fresher. Fresh eyes make all the difference.

And this:

“I get to outgrow what I was given….I don’t have to wear what was handed down to me.”

Yes! 🙌🏻

Thanks for sharing this here. Helps me remember how/why i need my therapist.

WHAT THE HELLY??? WHAT A FREAKING CREATIVE WRITER YOU ARE.

talk about maintaining a theme all through and you nailed it to the cross.

just curious, how long has this themed idea sat in your mind?
