Olajumoke, thaks you so much for sharing your story. I love how items can bring us joy. I am thinking of writing to Myles about some items I would love to save for him in the future.

I loved reading this and couldn't stop thinking how incredible it will be for Myles to see this side of his parents some day. What a gift.

I've decided to print these all out into a binder for him. Just in case the internet explodes one day! Thanks for reading, Deirdre!

You should! But I'm pretty sure he'll be able to read this in book form some day.

That's so beautiful. And I love the shared mythology you are creating for your family. Just last week my daughter sent me something she wrote for her college poetry class. It was "our story," how my husband and I met and got engaged. It was titled, "For Me, It Was Always Going to Be About Love" an important line from our family's favorite movie to rewatch together "About Time." Seeing how she remembered all the stories we've told about our love and how she sees them as truly a love story was so amazing. I made her cry a year ago with the poem I shared last Friday, and she made me cry with the one she wrote about us last week. Who knows, maybe Myles will write an award winning novel someday with his loving parents as the main characters. There's no telling what your words will set in motion, but I have a feeling it will be as wonderful as your marriage. 💙

Tara, I receive all of this. Your story gives me hope! I look forward to the day where he can receive all of these! Always appreciate you and your words.

This is so sweet, Tara. You make me want to rewatch About Time, which actually has my favorite wedding scene (ahh, ,that red dress, the song, the rain).

I really do think it is objectively the best movie of all time. 😉 My daughter told us she had watched it recently at school when she needed a good cry, so naturally we watched it here at home the very next day. "Greatest record recorded by an Italian who looks like he’s got a dead badger on his head." Genius.

I just looked up the Italian singer and that line checks out ha!

Beautiful; thank you for sharing your story with Myles and us, and making me tear up over lunch.

The combination of preparedness and unpreparedness reminded me of my last second panic of "wait, which leg do I kneel on?!"

Coincidentally, the restaurant I'm in started playing Bruno Mars' 'Marry You' just as I finished the article - isn't the world a strange place?

Now you know I'm here crying, grinning, and melting. The love y'all share is one that will be a testimony and beautiful display of God’s love for Myles.

Beautiful. And just like your wife, I'm the type that loves to plan, but secretly I'm a sucker for romance and love being surprised.

Last week I was surprised with a mommy staycation at a beautiful hotel. It was perfect and made my “planner self” surrender, lay low, and embrace being catered to.

The line about the moon! Marc, this is so beautifully written. I usually roll my eyes at sappy romance stories but I can feel the depth of this love and it makes me happy.

Also, driving in the car and being anxious because you don't know where it's going lol - it is me! I am that person.

Myles is so lucky to have you both, and you are all so blessed to have him and each other. God Bless.

I’m really happy you like that line. I thought it was a bit cheesy at first, but I went with it anyway. It was inspired by J Cole. In a song he says if he could gift wrap the globe he would give the woman the world. And I just went along with that idea

"I hope you find the kind of love that, when you tell people about it, they conspire and enroll themselves to make sure that love stays alive and happens." What a blessing that is.

Marc back it again cutting onions on this early morning 🥹 this was so precious, my heart can’t take it.

In December, I was having a real rough season at work and I was talking about it with a guy I was getting to know. He asked me if I was home because he was willing to stop by just to give me a hug. Although the timing didn’t allow for me to cash in on the hug offer that day, it meant a lot he event wanted to do that. So simple, yet so meaningful.

I did something thoughtful on Friday. One of my work friends is expecting her first child and due to some complications has to go on bed rest immediately. I came to her office before she left for the day to pray with her.

I want to say it's not ok to ever lie but in the context of planning surprises we need to call it something else.. I'm not lying I'm preserving the surprise 😅

If you could change anything about how you executed that day, what would it be and why?

How did you screw it up? Make it up by doing something that you've heard her mention she's been wanting to do for some time. Send her to the spa maybe?

Laughing at the preserving line. I love the way you show up for people, if sounds like they are showing up for you too ❤️ came back to say I made it up!

Love your writing so much. The phrase a string around the moon! Have you thought of writing picture books? I'm a children's book author and was wondering!

I'm part of a mentorship program and thought if you are interested in childrens books this is a good place to start :)

Your writing is lyrical and lovely

Reem, thank you for reading and sharing this opportunity. I haven't though about it, but if you see this is something worth looking into. I'm in. I am registered! This means a lot! Looking forward to learning more!

Hi Marc! Yay! Yes you have a way with lyrical language so if you haven't attempted a picture book, you should!

I also bet you are reading a bunch of picture books with your baby.🤩

Writing picture books is a lot of work but it's doable. See if you can get a picture book manuscript or two and then if you apply and get chosen you could get a crash course in the kid lit and publishing industry!

I think this story How I Met Your Mother could be so fun if made for children too
