I loved reading to my kids and their interacting with the books. I miss those days, but am also grateful to have moved to the stage they are in now. His sweet little voice is the best.
Very timely as I was just looking through some old videos and photos of the kids this morning. Over time, some call out to me and others don't. Plus do I really need 5 versions of essentially what is the same expression? 😅 With a little distance and time, it was easier to press the delete button.
We've been storing our photos on FamilyAlbum every since our two boys were born (6.5 years ago!) - deleting pics from our phone as we upload them on the app :) It works wonder, shows you video recap, you can give access to family members (they WILL comment every single pic!),.. and order photobooks too! (yeah I have no financial incentive here, just sharing what works for us :P)
Bruh. Please pay for iCloud and select "optimize storage" and then iPhoto will automatically offload images to the cloud for you (and download them instantly when you need them)... $10/month is cheaper than a new bigger phone (or having to delete photos of your child that you will NEVER get back)!
And also, then no need to worry about backing up phone to a computer :)
I came back to this today because now I’m officially out of space. But I worry about paying for more space because then you are paying for more space forever! How do you get around this lol
yeah, it becomes yet one more subscription to eat holes in your budget but in my opinion a small price to pay to know these pictures are backed up and won't disappear if my phone dies (plus we use iCloud Shared Photo Library so I love the fact that all the photos either of us takes just appears automatically on all our devices)
You are so right. They add up! I was trying to watch a basketball game, but of course the game I wanted to watch required me to watch through Fubo. Ridiculous. I have a hardrive, but they break so easily. Feels like there is no way to escape it.
your other option is to get something like a Synology DS124 home server and offload some pics/videos onto it, but then you really should back that thing up to the cloud too which also requires subscribing to some cloud service... :/
So. I've been compiling a photo montage for my daughters 40th birthday (wowza) and realizing how sadly few pictures I have of her and me. I was always the photographer. I was always the one deleting pictures of myself when I didn't like them. My bad. Get in those pictures, daddy!! (And get an external hard drive to back of those photos!)
Marc!
Why are you not backing up your phone?
Why have you not added an extra SIM card?
Do not pass Go - do not collect $200. Back your phone up to One Drive or to a laptop NOW.
Trust me on this.
Then find a Microcenter or Apple store and get the SIM card with the additional memory. Do your wife's phone at the same time.
And if you tell me you back your phone up automatically, then download those videos to a tablet or laptop where you can watch them.
Or a personal website.
Then you can delete whatever you like because you will have copies galore.
If you have an Apple, maybe adding a SIM card is more expensive. But for an Android It was cheap and easy enough for an idiot to do.
Even I managed it.
😁
*backs up phone on laptop* I can’t believe I haven’t done this since I got this phone lol! Thanks for the reminder!
And guess what I did after posting the response?
,🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seriously, multiple back ups. Nothing is worse than the computer with the photos crashing.

Thank you, Elder ❤️

What I hear you saying is I’ll have space on my phone when he goes off to college 😂
Hahahah, yes.
I love your voice bro
So true!!

Appreciate you sharing! Don’t you feel like you’ll be paying for storage forever though ?

I remember those days so well. The exhaustion. The preciousness.

Oh my gosh. That video of you two reading. The most nourishing.
Precious. Thanks for sharing this beautiful and loving moment with your son. My joy moment for today 🧡💯!
