Haha I love this! We traveled to Europe with our son when he was 16 months and wanted to crawl all over the floor of every restaurant / train station / museum, etc. Breastfeeding was the best mute button, and also the best "stay here" button!
I love this analogy! Unfortunately, we didn't get working remotes but thank god for the kinds you can buy at the store! There was so much binge-watching during long feeding sessions. My kid has seen more TV than they know 😂
haha I love how you extended the metaphor! Gradually we are giving up our stance on no screens. It's almost impossible especially since we work on them all day.
I love that your taking a hand in poetry, too. Really cool.
We all need to mute our fussiness, right?
I’m trying a new thing this week that I’m calling “stop and drop”. I’m randomly setting a timer on my phone about 2-3 times in the day. When the timer goes off, I will stop what I am doing and ask: Am I in my body right now or am I on auto pilot in my head? Chances are - it will be the latter! And so that is my cue to take 5 minutes to get grounded. To drop into my body and get out of my head.
I love that Allison - we can get so caught up in the routine sometimes. I really need to take stock more of my day. It’s hard these days but necessary. I find that when I go to my therapist appointment I’m realizing for the first time in the day I’m trying to pay attention to my body.
To answer question #2, I read and journal before I go to bed. In the morning, I make sure I make time for morning sun. I grab a cup of hot water or coffee, go outside, look at the sky, and just be for a moment, before I start the day off.
This is a great routine. I’m struggling to find one for myself now that Myles is in the picture. But I’ve committed to at least going outside everyday to just feel the sun as well. Grateful for you reading Yuezhong ❤️
I def recharge my going to the gym, 30+min walks staying off my phone, daily yoga 5-10min does the trick. Shout out to all the high tech mamas and their remotes 😂
5-10 min of yoga is def possible a likkle YouTube. Plus it can become part of your morning routine with Myles! Bonding time, body awareness, and emotional regulation
I have been trying to, but mostly in my personal journal. I started writing poetry again for the first time in years, so I need to get the structure and flow right before I’ll feel comfortable enough to share with anyone besides the sheets in the book
I like that 🥰. My small win was attending a PR & Storytelling workshop last Thursday. I don't think I need PR just yet but I learned a lot about organizational storytelling. I think this can be very helpful for me as an artist. My thorn - I've been feeling scatter brained and low motivation to paint and write. But I'm pushing through. Perhaps its trying to get into a new routine of tackling both. The focus is different. When I only painted that was easy and more flexible with my time. Now that I'm exploring fictional writing I'm trying to find some balance. So it looks like I need to structure my days a little better.
I can’t imagine trying to add something else to my plate right now. Hope you are able to give yourself some grace as you are taking on something new! It, whatever it is, will come.
When we were raising our twins whenever they cried, my ex-wife or I would give them a bottle.
I’d have lost my mind with twins. Great respect!
It took me to the end of the poem to figure out what the heck you’re talking about 😂 Momma carry that mute milk 🤐🥛
Mute Milk! I like that name!

I love how it's a multipurpose remote lol@ Thank you for reading Dominque!
Pure poetry ❤️ and I’m binging Friday Night Lights, because apparently high school football nostalgia is what the heart wants right now? 😂
Dia! Congrats again! Lowkey, I don't even think I saw that still. Thank you for reading!

So far, day 1 went well!

Oh I can get stuck in my head ALL day. It’s a practice climbing (clawing??) out of that attic. Lol.

Love the poetry bro!
Watching “We Crash” and “Shogun” with wifey.
My quiet time is around 5:30 AM at the coffee shop down the street. It’s a sweet moment of reading and writing before the day has started.
Man I wish having quiet time in the morning! Do you have kids?
I have three beautiful monsters lol. A 2, 4 and 7 year old.
The oldest is actually named Myles (although I call him by his middle name - Neptune).
Sometimes I'm too sleep deprived to make it happen, the 2 and 4 yo wake up occasionally, but I do the best I can.
You have a starting lineup. Bless you!
Thankfully only for a 3v3 league lol.
That poem! Mothers really have superpowers (read: milk, lmao) when it comes to calming children.
Superpowers indeed! Thanks for reading Chioma!
Feeding time is precious time, until baby learns to BITE! May Myles never learn *that* party trick! 😉
Watching "Sons of Anarchy", Season 1
Haha! He's biting now but thankfully he is no longer on the boob! Haven't got around to it. Highly recommend?
Meh. We finished the first season, but won't watch any more. But don't take my word for it. Subjective recommendations are overrated.
It took me a second but this is such an ode to young nursing moms. Love it.
Thanks for reading Pat! In about 2 more months it'll be a year. Hard to believe!
Amen to that.
Thanks for reading, David

I’m trying not read your comments like - man I wish I can do that for my self” 😂

Thank you for the shout out and link! 🥰🙏
Thank you for your support Amy ❤️
I feel like you have been writing more poetry recently. I really like it
I’ve been alternating between long and short for a while now. It helps ground me - are you doing poetry too?

I think once I get myself on a soft schedule, that will help. 💙
